Back from hospital. Mary had another CT scan today and apparently she isn't right enough to operate on so they are keeping her in over the weekend and reassessing on Monday. Yet more days in hospital for her but the silver lining is that I'm OK on Sunday (as long as I get back to Derby by 7pm for the last hour of visiting). :( and :)

Food is actually very good there - brand new hospital with very good facilities. I'm slightly disappointed by the nursing totty though (or rather lack of), I'll have to put in a complaint to the Director of Personnel.

What the feck guys.....what the feck.

I arrived on site at 1.05pm and stood outside for a few minutes with Jamie and a couple of the others, waiting for you, until he mentioned you'd already gone in, so I went to the safe zone and was told you had already gone into the tunnels.

After 45 minutes of walking around the place, shouting and trying to find you I gave up and was so f**ked off that I thought I might as well go home.

Why the hell couldn't you wait for five minutes, or give me a call to find out how far away I was? I waited 20 minutes for everyone to arrive last time we went there!

What's the point in me being involved in the organisation of this game now? I don't know what you'd have discussed and haven't had any input anyway.

I'll continue to look after booking, but to be frank, I can't be bothered to put in any effort on props or planning if you can't even give me the courtesy of waiting for me to get there. We've been doing this for three years now, I'd have thought there'd be enough mutual respect to elicit at least a modicum of team-like behaviour. Obviously not.

Steve, I'm sorry mate. We were in the safezone for a while, before we went in for a quick look around, assuming you'd arrive and find us. Jay tried to call you a couple of times but had no reception on his mobile. After we'd bimbled about for a bit, we went back to the safezone, to be told you'd been there and left about 15 minutes previously. I think that assuming you'd find us in there was a big mistake!

I'm personally gutted that we missed you, as your ideas and overall presence were sorely missed. We will have to go back again before January to finalise things and I hope you can forgive us enough to be there.

What can I say but apologies it was well out of order on our part . We hung around for a bit , and then bimbled off assuming we were not going far and that you'd catch us up shortly . That bimbling went on for a lot longer than any of us realised because we frankly got lost and carried away with the size of the place. It was crap on our part and we owe you one.

As for game planning we decided little other than that making use of the whole site would be difficult.

Apologies again .

Yes, so sorry Stephen - it wasn't intentional. If nothing else it proved how important it is that we keep a grip on player's movements - once out of line of sight they might as well be half a mile away. There is no way we can spent the day wandering round trying to find men - they have to return to report back else the whole thing will go to shit.

Stephen - some of the time was spent showing Guy around, some in the safezone discussing game scenario and logistics (and chatting to day players that were familiar faces :D ) and the rest trying to get a grip on what was where. I was really confused by the end and although Pete showed some good orientation I think Guy and Jay were as confused as me. Really, it is impossible to plan anything meaningful and make best use of the site without a map and in that sense it wasn't as fruitful as it should have been.

Definitely another trip needed

Some things brought up (in no order and off the top of my head) -
Giving Russians an advantage to start with by regen -in and out for them and the Germans having to wait for three bods before they go back out.
Having Russians start at car park entrance and Germans at the caravan entrance and having permanent HQs nearby to those.
Other regens would be around the site and based on several objectives that can be taken & occupied - flag shows ownership.
Russians would start off on recce and need to find map so commander can begin tasking.
Use of oil drums rolled down corridors to 'fuel' up vehicles.
Considered asking Oddball if he wants to use his 'Russian' tank.
The need to use the whole of the site and how we might achieve that.
Methods of marking the four main avenues to assist in player orientation. (We walked pretty much all the extremities of the site including roped off areas.)

Meh, not so annoyed now. I managed to walk around the site without getting lost! :slap: I went all the way to the back entrance too.

They've opened up loads off that main corridor, to the right as you walk up it from the back entrance.

Man management is going to be the order of the day methinks.

I've only found two map images so far, both of which will need redrawing....

Those are the only ones I've been able to find too. Neither blow up very well and lose what little detail they have the more you enlarge them :slap: .

No worries, I'll re-draw - the bottom one is clearly a proper engineering drawing so its going to be accurate. The question is what can be accessed now and what is usable gaming-wise.

I can see why I was confused with the orientation now!
